Short Adventure Games for When You Only Have an Hour

September 16, 2026 · Marta Nowak

Not every game needs to be a hundred-hour epic. Some of my favourite mobile experiences are the ones that know when to end, telling a small, complete story and letting you move on.

Lantern Hollow is the poster child for this. It's around three hours, hand-drawn, and offline from start to finish. I played it across two evenings and it left exactly the right impression, no filler, no padding.

Short adventures are perfect for a specific mood: you want a story, not a commitment. The trick is finding ones with real craft rather than throwaway asset flips, and that's where reading a proper review helps.

Keep a couple of these installed for the evenings you're too tired for anything demanding. They ask for attention, not stamina.
