About
GlyphBox started as a group chat where three friends kept swapping screenshots of games we found on long train rides. At some point the recommendations got too good to keep private, so we turned them into a proper site. The idea has never changed: find games that work offline and tell people the truth about them.
We play on our own phones, mostly mid-range Android devices and a couple of older iPhones, because that's what most readers carry. A game gets reviewed only after at least a few real sessions, not a five-minute look. If it drains battery, nags for a connection or falls apart after the tutorial, we say so.
Genre matters to us. We deliberately mix things up so the catalogue isn't just puzzle after puzzle. You'll find role-playing games, strategy, racing, cozy simulators and short adventures side by side, all tested for the same thing: does it hold up when you're offline?
Nobody pays us to include a title, and we don't run affiliate storefronts. When we like something we say why, and when we don't we explain what bugged us. That's the whole project.
