Iron Frontier

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Iron Frontier drops you on a windswept plateau with a handful of settlers and a lot of decisions. It's a strategy-builder that leans toward the thoughtful end: resource chains, defensive layouts, and the slow satisfaction of watching a rough camp become a working town.

Everything is playable offline, and the game is generous with pausing. You can plot out a plan, close the app, and the world sits waiting exactly where you left it. Combat against raiders is more about preparation than reflexes, which suits touch controls nicely.

It gets a touch fiddly on smaller screens when your settlement grows, but the zoom controls mostly save it. A great slow-burn if you like management games.
